Welcome to the Nancy Travis Hope for Babies, Care for Kids Website. Our goal is to increase access to quality child care for young children in the Athens-Clarke County area.  Through our donor base we provide scholarships for children to attend quality early learning programs.

We are passionate about our cause because we realize that it is a small investment that reaps large dividends in the long run.  Children raised  in  poverty often enter school behind their peers and, without quality child care and early learning experiences, this gap only grows wider, affecting  many areas of the child’s life.  Studies show that this trend can be reversed when children receive quality child care.   The University of North Carolina ’s “Abecedarian Project” and many others like it demonstrated that quality early education could greatly enhance the development of children in low-income families and those at risk for living in poverty.
